It is hoped that training will start on Friday 12 September at 6.30pm at Colwyn Bay RFC. Many thanks to Bryan Roberts, Chairman at CBRFC for his generosity in allowing us to use the club facilities. All interested players are welcome to come along and train. A development day to attract more girls will hopefully be held later in the month - details will be given as soon as they are finalised - watch this space.

Update

Meeting tonight of all the Gogledd Cymru training and management squad with Austin Thomas, Regional Rugby Manager, to sort out details for the forthcoming season. We are all determined that this season will be much more organised and the coaches are hoping that they can fire up the squad with enthusiasm. Issy Jones, Wales U20 player, who is just back from Wales' tour of Canada, has joined the training squad to assist the coaches and offer help and advice to the girls. New kit has been ordered for the whole squad and it is hoped that some home games can be played much more locally than previously (though I am sure that you will all miss travelling to Llanidloes!).The first big event on the calendar is planned for September 28. Venue and exact details are still to be finalised but we are hoping to hold a rugby experience day so that all interested girls in the region can get together and new girls can try out the game alongside more experienced players - more details will follow.

Coaches and managers have now been confirmed by the WRU for the forthcoming season for the Gogledd Cymru U15 and U18 girls squads.

North Wales girls rugby 2008 - 2009

The start of a new season with new regional teams - Gogledd Cymru (us), Scarlets, Ospreys, Blues and Dragons - more teams, more games. Let's hope this will be the most successful season yet.
